Gateway Alternative works with at-risk middle and high school students that have been expelled from their neighborhood school. The district hearing officer assigns students to Gateway in order to provide more structure and smaller classroom sizes. Gateway teachers are able to give more one-on-one instruction and attention to students. The Gateway staff takes great pride in working with all students and will strive to create the best learning environment possible. Gateway students will have a highly structured learning environment with clear expectations. Teachers will review expectations and guidelines often so that all students understand what is expected.
